Unkahee se dartay ho.
Jo abhi nahi aayi, uss ghari se dartay ho.
Uss ghari ki aamad ki aagahi se dartay ho.

Pehlay bhi tau guzray hein
Daur naa rasaayi ke, bay reyaa khudaai ke
Phir bhi yeh samajhtay ho, heich aarzoo mandi.

It is the unsaid that you fear.
The moment that is yet to come, it is but that moment that you fear.
the knowledge of the inevitable arrival of that moment is what you fear.

(the second stanza up here is too gorgeous for me to massacre with translation, I feel so inadequate. It. is JUST beautiful. Just in a nut shell, says many mishaps brought unto you by the relentless creations/ the Kingdom of God have passed earlier, yet you still think that being hopeful is futile?)

I've been obsessing over this old classic by Noon Meem Rashid. Oh the beauty of this poetry clenches my heart in a fist.

I will find time to write about it in detail, word by word, stanza by stanza some day but for now, this one is giving me palpitations, the good kind.

This poem is almost human. It really is. It speaks to you and if you answer, it responds.

Tum Abhi se dartay ho

You fear, (the) Now..

Every snowflake yearns to touch the ground, to melt, to change it's state, be something it isn't yet, whether it's water, ice or a snowball. Change is but a constant. Keep Commenting...let me know what you think.
