Entitlement

Socialisation across time has taken its twists and turns. Somehow people in their dealings with others have turned a way they perhaps weren't earlier. Or maybe I've lived a life (still!) too protected.

The whole shebang about owning your own space and taking care of yourself has a tiny side effect. We are losing the age old idea of courtesy. People think that not responding, lying about commitments and the like are okay because they were "feeling down that day" and had to put themselves first. Not being punctual at previously discussed and agreed upon timelines is considered normal and fashionable as is seeming indifferent to what they have done in a "oh but I now take care of myself first, so I'm sorry if it's an inconvenience to you but not sorry." way.

Don't commit. If you're having a bad day, you have the option of dropping a line before you waste someone's time waiting for you.
Any kind of self love does not justify not respecting another person's time or day. That just makes you plain rude. Nothing else.

I wish we help raise more considerate, kind and responsible adults. Around us, and those we have as our own children.

Every snowflake yearns to touch the ground, to melt, to change it's state, be something it isn't yet, whether it's water, ice or a snowball. Change is but a constant. Keep Commenting...let me know what you think.
