Pakistan Day- March 23, 2017

Intolerance is branded into the genome of a Pakistani over generations of autosuggestion. Whether it is interfaith, or across a different school of thought or simply about disagreement on anything at all. We feel the need to force into another's mind and convince them to accept our viewpoint. Freedom of speech is a birthright used and abused to death and beyond. We find it next to natural to regurgitate our verbal diarrhoea whether or not it is needed. Everyone has opinions, sadly (atrociously) everyone is falling over their feet wanting to speak up too, ranging from choice of paper towels up to that of world peace or how someone says their prayers over saving stray animals, instead of choosing their battles. The nanosecond someone walks out the room after somehow miraculously we were able to hold our opinions in, we vomit it all out grossly trespassing boundaries, forgetting there is personal information and boundaries sacred to that individual that we are vehemently violating. In that moment we are just overwhelmed with the force of our "freedom of speech " that has been scorning people we love for generations. The love of friends and family that make you want to migrate to a Tibetan cave for the rest of your life.
If only we learn to draw boundaries and agree to disagree, on absolutely everything under the sun, life quality would improve by leaps and bounds.
Pakistan Day. Yet another holiday reinforcing our sense of entitlement that we imbibe into our hearts and those around us.
Be humble, allow differing opinions, learn to walk away most of the time without trying to convince someone to abandon their opinion. Being right will not get you places, being kind will.

Bottom line: Learn to mind your own business. Let's make Pakistan great again.

Every snowflake yearns to touch the ground, to melt, to change it's state, be something it isn't yet, whether it's water, ice or a snowball. Change is but a constant. Keep Commenting...let me know what you think.
